These are the ears and horns for the faun costume.

I never would have thought of needle felting ears!  That is terribly clever.

Fortsatt imponerad!

Papiere mache. The. Best.
But otherwise I´m not really sure what tips to give, just to make them as lightweight as possible because they tend to give you a headache otherwise :P

Thank you! Mine are a little over halfway done, now. I have most of the ridges left to construct, sanding (150 grit sandpaper actually works on it! Who knew!) and, of course, painting.

Thank you for your inspiration!!!

i have seen machines that do needle felting; lots of needles that repeatedly stab the felt.

:iconulltotten:
Ulltotten Featured By Owner May 10, 2012
well, it´s the same technique really, but I use only one of those needles or sometimes five in a small handle
Reply
:iconkaterlin:
katerlin Featured By Owner May 10, 2012
so do you have the felt as the base and punch the wool fibres through it with the needles??
Reply
:iconulltotten:
Ulltotten Featured By Owner May 15, 2012
I just take some wool, and with the needle I shape it into an ear. There is no base, or rather, the base is the ear wich I make myself out of wool :P

Full instructions? that would mean making a whole tutorial and I´m afraid that takes too much time. But you can probably find some tutorials in needle felting if you just google some :) Or check if there´s any books about it in the library!

Im making a faun costume too, and Im currently searching for the best way to make horns.
I found this idea with foam. But these look so nice too!
Could you tell a little bit more about how you made this? Would really help me! :)
